Local economy: Maximum use of local products in our restaurant.
Coral reef awareness: Educating guests on respecting the lagoon and its fragile ecosystem.
Recycling: Dedicated bins in the restaurant to facilitate waste sorting.
Plastic bottle elimination: Filtered water served in carafes at the bar and the restaurant.
Energy conservation: Raising awareness among staff and guests about responsible energy use.
Environmental standards compliance: Adhering to legal and ecological requirements.
Ongoing training: Regular workshops to educate staff on best environmental practices.
Bed linen & towels: Changed every 3 days, with the possibility of a specific request.
Plastic reduction: Elimination of single-use plastics – a sugarcane fiber water bottle is offered to our guests.
Water conservation: Staff awareness on water savings and installation of water-efficient equipment.
Cleaning products: Preference for natural, eco-labeled substances.
Recycling: Implementation of adapted sorting solutions in the rooms.
Coral reef awareness
Located on the beachfront, facing the largest coral barrier reef in Réunion Island, Ness by D-Ocean is both a privileged observer of this natural treasure and an advocate for its preservation.
In partnership with the Réunion Marine Reserve, we remind you of some essential actions to protect the lagoon:
- Explore without stepping: Corals are fragile living beings. Avoid stepping on them to prevent damage.
- Observe without disturbing: Watch marine life from a distance and do not feed the animals.
- Play without taking: Sand and shells are part of the ecosystem. Leave them where they belong to maintain their natural role.
- Enjoy without polluting: Pick up your waste and dispose of it in designated bins.
Together, let’s protect this natural wonder so that future generations can also marvel at its beauty.
Ecolabel
We are currently working on launching our eco-label. This commitment will reinforce our initiatives and ensure high standards in sustainable development.
Sustainable transportation
We encourage our guests to choose sustainable transport options. Several eco-friendly alternatives are available near the hotel:
- Electric bikes: A Roulib station is located just 2 minutes from the hotel.
- Carpooling: If you are traveling with others, consider carpooling to reduce your carbon footprint.
Public transport – Saline les Bains stop, 3 minutes on foot:
- Kar’Ouest: Line 69 (Saint-Paul).
- Car Jaune: Line T (airports), S4 (Saint-Pierre – Saint-Paul).
